We currently have a PXIe-1062q chassis with a PXIe8133 embedded controller. We wanted to instead use external control via a PXI-PCI connection using a PXI-PCIe-8361 kit. I was told this would be viable by one of the Sales Engineers.
However, the problem seems to be that the PXI-8360 card itself fits only in the peripheral slots, and if nothing is connected to the "System Controller Slot" the chassis will not switch on. The only card we have besides the embedded controller that fits in the Controller slot is a PXI-6535 Digital I/O card.
How would it be possible to use the chassis for our I/O cards, but control them using the PXI-PCIe connection to an external computer and NOT the embedded controller?
Kind Regards
Daryl
