PXIe-1085 unidentified in MAX

I have a PXIe-1085 with a PXIe-8840 quad core controller that is unidentified in MAX. The chassis has PXI-6704 cards in slots 2-5, PXIe-6363 cards in slots 6-13, and PXI-4353 cards in slots 14-16. The cards show up in the Devices and Interfaces tree individually, pass self check, and can run test panels.  The PXIe-1085 shows up at the bottom of the list of devices as unidentified. The 8840 is identified with the chassis but the chassis remains unidentified. The drop down list for identifying the chassis does not contain the 1085 chassis option. The list stops as 1056. I can not find a chassis.ini or pxisys.ini file anywhere on my system. I have tried deleting the chassis and refreshing to no avail. Do I need to delete the configuration and star over with a bare chassis and controller?

This is a system that was purchased over 3 years ago and is being implemented just now.

Windows 7 SP1

MAX 18.0

Platform Services 19.1

LabVIEW 16

Any help will be appreciated!

PXI Chassis does not show up in MAX using MXI controller

I am trying to set up a system that uses a PXI Chassis connected to a PC.  I have a PCIe-8381 card in the PC connecting to a PXIe-8381 in slot 1 of the PXI Chassis.  The only thing that shows up in MAX is the PCI card.  The LED on both cards is a "Solid Amber".  I read something about the DIP switches on the PCI card, but changing them didn't seem to have an effect.  I've not used this configuration before. Can someone point me in the right direction.

Windows7 installation in PXI-8106 fail

Hi, I open this new thread due to the one where this issue is commented does not solve my problem, and appears as solved

I,m trying to install a Win7 in a PXI-8106, but after copying files message appears win7 logo and then I have a black screen, but the monitor is kept active.

I can do the installation from safe mode, but when reboot, I have the same issue.

It seems it is related with some drivers, due to in safe mode I can do the installation, but, as commented above, when reboot, after the win7 logo, the screen goes to black

Could you please help me with this?

I know PXI-8106 does not support Win7, but I see some people have running wit7 in this cpu

Timestamp for NI-SCOPE acquisition

I am using the ScopeWaveformInfo object returned from a call to FetchDouble when acquiring waveform data.

The ScopeWaveformInfo object contains timestamps such as AbsoluteInitialX which are in seconds.

I want to know how I can correlate this kind of timestamp to something like the host computer's system clock, or just something that relates to a real time (like January 23, 2019, 01:30:45.2323 GMT). as I understand it the AbsoluteInitialX time is just based on a running time stamp counter on the device.

Thanks

NI-SCOPE timestamp error

If I acquire a waveform using a function such as FetchDouble. how can I use the returned AnalogWaveform object's WaveformTiming object to get a timestamp such as "StartTime"?

For instance, when I try to access StartTime was such:

mywaveform.Timing.StartTime.Ticks I get an error of "The waveform timing does not have a time stamp."

How can I make it have a time stamp?

I know I can also inspect the returned ScopeWaveformInfo object, but I am wondering how to make the WaveformTiming object contain timestamp info.

Thanks

We would like to interface a Logitech g29 with USB interface to our RT PXI system as a Human Interface Device (HID) to control the vehicle dynamics model running in the PXIe8880. Is it possible?
ps: Logitech g29  is "a fully compliant HID device and can be read by any HID-capable platform".

System bandwidth and slot bandwidth

I am trying to find a suitable chassis for a PXIe-5186 card. Which chassis is recommended?

I noticed that there are system bandwidth and slot bandwidth for chassis, how can I check how much bandwidth is required by the card?

For some chassis, it will include OCXO for increased clock accuracy. May I ask how the clock signal is connected to the PXIe card? Through chassis internal connection or need to through a cable? Can I have more information about this OCXO option for chassis? Can I connect an external 10 MHz reference clock to the system?

Thank you.

I have to test an oscillator which works at 11MHZ Frequency but my PXI System doesnt support upto 11MHz. Can I use the existing system for this test or do I add some new cards into the rack. Anyone got any info?

Fiber Optic Cable Choices (alt brands)

I am wondering if there is an "off the shelf" version of NI's MXI-Express Gen 1 x 4 Fiber Optic Cable (PN: 781042-30 in particular).  I know on older gens I was able to cross reference to a standard cable and save significant money allowing me to have multiples around.  However, with the Gen 1 x 4 the connector appears to be proprietary to NI, is this true?

PXI-4065 DMM: impedance of 4-wire sense terminals during voltage measurements?

$

Hi,

I am planning to use a PXI-2530B reed relay module in dual 2-wire 32:1 mux configuration to route pairs of wires from test points on my UUT to either the red or black jacks on a PXI-4065 DMM for 4-wire resistance measurements. Later on during testing, I will want to use the DMM in DC voltage mode to measure voltage between some of these test points with the UUT energized.  For these voltage measurements, I only need to connect to the upper red/black jacks; the "second wire" in my muxes is not needed.

My question is, when the 4065 DMM is in voltage measurement mode, are the lower two red/black jacks (4-wire sense and current input) internally disconnected, allowing me to use the same mux connections and topology as I did for my 4-wire measurements? Or would leaving the lower (sense) jacks connected provide a current path, corrupting the measurement and/or drawing excess current from my UUT?

If I need to avoid connecting to the lower jacks during voltage measurements, is it straightforward in LabVIEW to switch from driving the PXI-2530B in dual 2-wire 32:1 mux mode to dual (or quad) 1-wire 32:1 mux mode mid-program?

Hello,

I am using a NI PCIe-1073 chassis.  Installed in the chassis is a NI PXI-2567 64-Channel Relay Drive Module.  I've installed the PCIe-8361 onto my desktop computer.  I've download all the drivers.

On NI MAX, I can see the PCIe-8361, but the status of NI PXI-2567 is not present (see attached)

I've never used any PXI products before, so I am a newbie setting this up.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi all,

I have just purchased an NI PXIe-5840 VST, and have installed NI-RFSG (v18.2.1) and NI-RFSA (v18.2.1) drivers on my Windows 10 chassis. The NI-RFSG Soft Front Panel has installed successfully and runs as expected. However, the NI-RFSA Soft Front Panel does not open although the installation was successful.

I have attached a screenshot of the error it throws. I have tried reinstalling the drivers, but i still get the same error. Can someone please help me out?

Thanks in advance.

Hello, my SMU NI PXIe 4139 keeps on generating OLP ERROR 1074118575 at NI DCPOWER Fetch Multiple.vi everytime I am measuring voltage when I send 1A current to my DUT. Why is it happening? I thought the SMU can also sink 1A when the DUT is faulty

PXIE-2525 PMbus signals

We are trying to communicate with approximately 20 different controllers through the PXI-2525 using I2C. The ones that we can't communicate with point towards the 2525 relay for that circuit as the problem. The minimum current for the 2525 is 1mA per relay and that is close to what we are using for the I2C communication. About 15 of the 20 work consistently, and the other 5 we have problems. Anyone else tried this and is this because we are at the minimum spec for current?

Drivers for an old PXI-8106 controller

I am looking for drivers of a PXI-8106 controller.

What is posted on the Drivers page from NI is garbage, does not fix any driver issue that I have.

Does anyone know where to find the full package for this controller?

Thank you,

Gaston

PS: HDD drive died, replaced OS and some drivers. Package from NI is garbage.

Installing NI-XNET from CD

Hello everyone,

I received a CAN Card (PXI 8513) with an installation CD for XNET. The card is detected via MAX and I connected a external DVD drive via USB to my PXI system.

After the autorun pops up I click 'Install', the Package Manager (?) starts and displays:

  • Gathering system information
  • Adding feeds

Then the message 'No operation to be performed' appears.

Why is the included CD not working? What does the package manager do? Do I need Internet connection?

I found the driver link for NI XNET 19.x

https://www.ni.com/de-de/support/downloads/drivers/download.ni-xnet.html#329450

it is only the online installer. I would like to install XNET without connecting the PXI to the internet.

Emulating a SCXI-1162 with a PXI6529

I have a system that uses the SCXI-1162 HV inputs to detect 110 VAC inputs from multiple sources only to detect On or OFF.  Since the 1162 is no longer available I chose the PXI-6529.   The 6529 doesn't have the input range of the 1162 and I am wanting to know if anyone has run into a similar situation.  I only want to detect Hi/Lo from a 110VAC signal.

Sofware install Linux RT PXI

Installing PXI Linux on a PXIe-8880 and I keep getting a dependency issue when I try and install DAQmx.

I have tried installing every package that is in the list, I have also tried just installing the one package (DAQmx).  It looks like you can add additional feeds to a system but I could not find this particular package.

Anybody else seen this?  I am running 19.5 across the board, fresh install.
