Hi there,

 

I'm considering using PXIe-2543 as a switch. I have 4 inputs and need one output. Here're two conditions I would like this switch satisfy.

1. None of the inputs is chosen, and all of them need to be terminated by an open circuit. They cannot be terminated by the 50Ohm.
2. One input is selected, and the other three are terminated by an open circuit.

Basically I'd like to know whether each port can be switched between connected and open(not 50OHm termination) and whether I'm able to disconnect all ports.

I'm attempting to monitor and control PXIe cards on a remote system PXIe chassis using Python, similar to how I would do so using a cDAQ card on a local machine. I've having issues pointing the nidaqmx library to the remote system, and establishing a connection. 

 

Given nidaqmx.system.System() inherently references the local system, is there a preferred way to point to the remote DAQ IP address? If there a preferred way to initialize the remote system?

I am in the process of enabling continuous peer-to-peer streaming between the PXIe-5122 Oscilloscope and the PXIe-7846R FPGA module. However, I am receiving an error stating "The requested action is invalid while onboard memory is disabled." after the "niScope Fetch Binary 16" VI is executed in the while loop. I could not find any reference to this error online. Does anyone know why the memory might be disabled at this point in the program? This error did not occur before I began adding the P2P functionality (when I just at the waveform generator and oscilloscope programmed in the VI). Attached is a screenshot of the Host VI and the LabVIEW Project.

I have a PXIe-8840 controller in a PXIe-1084 chassis with a PXIe-8384  PXI Bus Extension Module in Slot 2 of the chassis.  It is connected to a PXIe-8381 PXI Remote Control Module  in an PXIe-1071 expansion chassis.  When the PXIe-1071 is on, MAX hangs when I expand the "Devices and Interfaces".  It just continues to report searching, I let it sit for over 10 minutes.   Also, my program hangs when I call NISysCfgFindHardware.

 

When the PXIe-1071 is not on, everything works.  MAX finds the PXIe-8384 and my program also finds it.

 

How would the expansion chassis and PXIe-8381 show up in Device Manager?

What drivers do I need?

Hello everyone,

 

currently i work from home and designed a database for X-NET CAN communication. There is also no CAN-bus connected to the ports. Should it be possible to see some signals in the XNET-Bus Monitor although there is no CAN- connected with the ports?

Hi,

       I am trying to simulate a resolver in 7841 R. I am using Sine Wave generator Express VI for converting Shaft Speed to Sine and Cos waveform. But I am finding 180 degree phase difference between Sin and Cos which ideally should be 90 degree.  I am attaching snippet of the program and parameter used in the Expess VI. Can anyone help me out. I am using LabVIEW 2013 and have no option to upgrade.

Evaluating NI 6365, on p. 3 ofhttps://www.ni.com/pdf/manuals/374654e.pdf I observe 1.66mV accuracy in the example that assumes 10,000 measurements to reduce noise impact if I only change the number of measurements from 10,000 to one, I get ~2.6 mV, my accuracy is ~13 bits (20V range +/- 10V and the 2.6 mV absolute accuracy), does that stack-up?

 

We would like to measure +/-140V time-variant (3MHz peak frequency content) signal with 15-bit accuracy, so expect to precision voltage divider and a good trigger and then our source resistance & settle time becomes a concern!

 

Appreciate your confirmation and suggestions regarding our application.

Hi,

for my current project i have to work with Global virtual NI DAQmx channel in order to pass some values (for example boolean). While implementing this, i found out that the port alternates extremely fast between 0 and 1. I also found out that the reason must be the simulated device i generated for this project. Where could be the reason for this?
I defined the DAQmx channels on NI MAX.

Hi,

I'm getting myself familiar with a new PXIe 5841, and have been playing around both with the RFSG and RFSA. I have been able to use one of the dotnet examples to play back an LTE signal. I have modified the code with the aim to test the modulation characteristics of the LTE signal being played back. I allocate the instrument session as a NIRfsg class , which then cannot support the measurement features provided by RFmxLteMX or RFmxDemodMX. The resource name indicated on NI MAX for the PXIE5841 is PXI1Slot5, and that's the name I have to use whether I am using the SG or the SA. So is it possible at all to use the SG to generate/play a waveform, and analyze it simultaneously with the SA on the PXIe 5841? Thanks!

Hi all,

 

I need to externally connect a custom card to a pxie-1071 chassis.

 

The card would normally sit in slots 3&4 and connects at slot 3 via the 110-pin connector (see attached image for the connector i mean). 

 

Basically i need either a breakout/extender card or a cable to effectively let me plug into this backplane - with the card being connected outside of the actual chassis (required for testing / measurement purposes). 

 

Just wondered if anyone knew of a cable / extender card that would work for this purpose, or where i’d source a 110-pin connector from in a different form factor so i could make a custom cable (one female end to plug into the chassis and one male end to plug into the actual card i want to connect)?

I'm building the a custom cable harness for my PXIe-4112 Power Supply and the getting started guide says this module comes with a kit of hardware parts. One of the items is the Output Connector Assembly. I'm trying to find a spec sheet for this connector assembly so I can know what size wire gauge I can use in the terminals.

Hi Guys,

 

When I connect PXie 8301 to my laptop using thunderbolt cable, my laptop turns blue screen. I tried using another laptop, same thing. 

Here is the screenshot. I am using LabVIEW 2015 and Flexrio 18.7. 

 

Any ideas?

Hi, I have a PXI  RT Target system with multi functioning DAQ card 6363 which is configured for two different HOST systems. I have to READ/WRITE the channel data AI/AO/DI/DO of 6363 from two different HOST PC's simultaneouly. Can i execute .exe from two different consoles/HOST PC's simultaneously for the same controller?

I'm looking at the PXIe-8238 card. The datasheet says the card has two SFP+ ports that support 10GBASE-SR optic and Copper Direct Attach physical media. Can the card be configured for 10GBASE-T if I were to buy 10GBASE-T (copper only) SFP+ transcievers?

I have inserted PCIe 8362 in my pc. I have installed pxi platform 19.5 and ni daq 19.5 in my pc. It runs on Windows 7. I am not able to see this card on ni MX software and neither the chassis. I have attached an image of the specifications of my computer. The light of the connector to which chassis is connected is glowing green. What should I do??

Hello,

 

How can I control the PXIe-5451 AWG to pulse sine bursts using the NI FGen tools in LabView?

 

Different examples show how to generate continuous or standard waveforms, such as the  FGen Function Generator.vi. Such VI works perfectly, however I am wondering what is the best practice to produce a burst of just a few cycles? There are other forum threads on this topic, but none of them clarify this and those topics are mainly related to function generators and not waveform generators. Further, the other examples provided on bursts generation are not compatible with PXIe-545x series.

 

I think the best way to answer my question would be to modify the FGen Function Generator.vi (or a similar one compatible with PXIe-545x WG series) to accomodate an option to pulse bursts. In particular, I would like to be able to select burst frequency and number of cycles.

I am modifying the LabVIEW Real-Time Control (NI-DAQmx) example project to read in multiple analog/digital input/outputs and to have a toggle between the PXI  integrated timing and the PXI 6674T oscillator clock. I have been able to easily change the example to incorporate the additional analog and digital signals but I cannot figure out how to get the timing toggle to work. I have been trying to include a DAQmx timing VI with the PXI 6674T for timing but I cannot configure the trigger or the PFI from the PXI 6674T to work properly. Is there an example for the a DAQmx with an external source? Any tips will help? Thank you!

Hello,

 

I am using an analog data generation with PXIe-7976R with the AT-1212 module. I had the code running without an issue. However, out of the blue, I have started to get the attached file even though no change inside the code. I have reset the PXI multiple times, but I cannot generate anything from the PXI. How can I solve this ?
