The company that i work for bought a PXIe-1073 chassis, and it only provides a MXI-Express port.
Unfortunately, I can't control it from my PC because it doesn't have any PCI / PCIe ports, it supports only USB2.0 and USB3.0 ports.
So, is there any mean so i could control the chassis correctly using some sort of MXI-USB adaptor?
I have a PXIe-1071 chassis with two PXIe-6368 cards
I developed the spec with an applications engineer at NI who I *thought* understood my problem
I've got 32 voltage channels, I want to trigger an acquisition on all 32 channels, when any 1 of them rises above the threshold
I started developing the code to do this and received the error that multi edge triggering is not supported
Are there any workarounds or can folks suggest alternative cards that DO support it?
I've considered programmatically checking each channel, however I need to acquire at 500kS/s across all 32 channels and I don't think the processor can handle the overhead.... plus LabVIEW is telling me off for trying to use multiple instances of DAQmx read VI at once....
Hello, i want to use TDMS to store the data generated from a PXI. I was checking the examples provided by Labwindows/CVI, but i only found examples related to DAQ device !? Why there is no examples for other PXIs like (DMM). So if i want to store a data in a TDMS generated from PXI 4065 which is a digital multimiter (DMM) ? Is it possible or TDMS only for DAQ device.
so to configure TDMS file logging for the task, there is specific function for that for example:

I've had an PXI system sitting for about a year, I have been practicing with a cRIO instead, (*new LabVIEW user) Other than booting it up and updating the software and ext. about a year ago on NI MAX, It boot into BIOs just fine. I've never attempted to go passed that until a few days ago. The PXI will not boot into bios or anything other then the green blinking of Ethernet port. I've read every manual, trouble shooting guide, and NI tech support with a quoted RMA of 3,000. Has anyone else have this problem... The system has never been used in testing nor tampered or damaged... in anyway that I am aware of. I would like to avoid a 3000 bill for a switch or remote start method I am not aware of.
The PXIe is a PXIe-8880 on a PXIe-1078 chassis.

I have a PXI-1042Q chassis (that used to work without problems) that after turning on the power, the green power LED turns on and off with an inconsistent pattern. I have seen the pattern when the air intake temperature is high (off then blinks twice and then off again) but this one is different. It just randomly shuts off after a few seconds, stays off for a few more seconds, then turns back on for a few more seconds etc. The on and off periods are somewhat random, but always last anywhere from a few seconds (2 or 3) to several seconds (sometimes over 10 seconds but never over a minute).
The above leads me to believe that the power supply and the fan control board are ok. Are there any ideas that could point me in the right direction? Could this be a problem with the backplane board?
The original symptom was that the Windows 10 host stopped recognizing the chassis and the instruments via MXI-4.

Hi, myself Kalyan from ii-vi incorporated. We are calibrating NI PXle 4140 SMU module, to adjust the out of tolerance value we need to unlock the instrument. as per manufacturer the calibration document mentioned the unlock password is "NI" but this is not working for the practice. we also tried all the possibilities of lower and upper cases with the given password. Could you please help to unlock the instrument or resetting the password.
Note: we do not know the current password the last calibration engineer had changed it. it was calibration by NI China team.

I am using NI Flexrio 6583 module for camera data acquisition. I don't have an IMAQ or Vision module. I have check all the JPEG markers in JPEG raw file, but unable to create an image with this data. Is there any way to create or display an image on the front panel?

I am designing a system where I want to simulate a large number of PT100 (or PT1000) resistors. The system must be able to simulate up to 60 sensors. My goal is to design automated test equipment for a system that, among other things, shall be able to read a bunch of temperature sensors. My goal is to reach a resolution in the area of 0.1 deg C, and an accuracy of 1 deg C. After browsing NI PXI hardware, I have truble finding the proper module for the job.
The obvious solution would be to have an RTD simulator, but I can not find one with sufficient resolution / number of channels.
Another workable solution would be to have an Analog Voltage Output, 16 bit, with External Reference. However, the modules I have been looking at, have only one analog output with external reference.
Does anyone have a hardware suggestion for this application?
I bought a used Inertia cabinet system but I didn't like the Inertia software. I downloaded Labview community to play with but I cant see my I/O cards. My system consist of a PXI-1031 chassis with a 8108 controller, two 6251 MIO's and one 6514 DIO. I can connect to the 8108 just fine and its booting up in LabView Real-Time 8.6.1 but I cannot see any of the I/O's in MAX. Before I loaded LabView Community 2020 f1 I could see the cards and test them in MAX that cam with the Inertia set up. I have reloaded ni-DAQmx to ensure I had the most updated drivers but this did not help. I'm including pics of My Systems and Remote Systems from MAX for reference. Any help would be appreciated.

for my current project i have to work with Global virtual NI DAQmx channel in order to pass some values (for example boolean). While implementing this, i found out that the port alternates extremely fast between 0 and 1. I also found out that the reason must be the simulated device i generated for this project. Where could be the reason for this?

I have been using the PXIe-4463 to generate a sine wave for vibration testing, as well as to generate a stepped-sine voltage. After tuning the amplifier gain, I found that a 10-Hz sine wave was acceptably free of harmonics, despite the data sheet giving 20 Hz as a minimum frequency.
When I ran a stepped-sine output (10, 20, 30, 40, 50 Hz) with the same amplifier gain, the 10-Hz output was severely distorted while the distortion disappeared at 30 Hz and above. Why did the device behave differently at 10 Hz in these tests? After reviewing the code, the amplitude is definitely set to a constant for all sine steps.

I use InstrumentStudio 20.3 with PXI-5105. The card has 16 MByte record memory, which gives 8 Mbyte Samples memory for all channels.
The card has 8 channels. When I disable 7 channels and leave one to sample, the record memory stays at 1 MSample and not increases to maximum value. It never switches to value above 1MSample.
Am I doing something wrong or the software is limited?

Hi all, I am working on a project where I need to generate a 1kHz sinewave at 1-2Vrms using a PXI-6722 Analog Output device. I am having an issue where the device is unable to generate anything over approximately 800Hz due to timing issues. I am currently stuck with using this device but am unable to find much documentation to support it so any help would be much appreciated. If it is not physically capable of the above then purchasing another NI device may also be an option (e.g. another PXI module or CDAQ module).

I work for a company that designed an add in card for some older PXI and PXIe systems. It attaches via a PCI interface to an external computer/laptop. (For example, it works in a PXI-1033 chassis with a laptop connected.)
A customer would like to use it in a PXIe-1082 enclosure with a PXIe-8861 computer in it. With our add-in card installed in any hybrid slot the system refuses to boot. Internally we use a PLX8656 IC for communications over the PCI buss.
When I install the add in card the system will post but will not boot. I can open the bios and have tried all combinations of PCI settings. I have tried windows 10 (32 and 64 bit. Yes, I know 32 bit isn't supported, but it was worth trying.) windows XP 32 bit, ubuntu 16.04 (64 bit) and several linux live boots.
As soon as the card is removed the system boots fine and the card works in other PXI and PXIe systems.
I am out of ideas to try, does anyone know any way I can get more information to continue troubleshooting?
