Hello
I would use PXImc between two system, a PXI used for HIL simulation with veristand installed and a ETS RT target used for the test bench control.
The test bench controller acquires data, closes loop controll with PID and generates command to servovalvs; now I want to share data from the controller to the HIL system and from HIL system to the controller. On the controller I have my realtime software,Veristand isn't installed, how can I do?
On HIL system I have to configure custom device PXImc and on controller I have to use PXImc labview function?
How can I synchronize the two systems? Can I use PXImc interrupts?
Thanks in advance
Ezio

pxiident.ini
I have inherited a system that has 2 PXI chassis. In fact I have 2 of these systems. They are supposed to be identical but they were built in 2 different facilities and several years apart. I'm having problems on one so I'm looking for differences between the 2. On one of the systems the pxiident.ini has Chassis1 first. On the other one Chassis2 comes first. Also the EntryBridgeSlotPath is different between the two. On the good one EntryBridgeSlotPath is set to "70,F0" and "78,F0". On the problematic one EntryBridgeSlotPath is set to "10,00,E1" and "18,00,E1".
Where does pxiident.ini come from?
What do I need to do to get Chassis1 to appear first on the problematic system?
What's up with the different EntryBridgeSlotPaths? (I mean I can understand differences - different PCs and all - but the different structure has me curious.)
Thanks in advance for any help/insight/assistance you can provide.

pxi 8105 crush
I have PXI-1031 with PXI 8105, sent one of the pxi5105 back to get fixed 2 weeks ago. When I put them back together. The system kept restarting itself. Sometimes it works, but sometimes it restared in the middle of my run. Does anyone have this experience before? Need helps!
Thermocouples Fail to Update Properly
Hello,
I am trying to read in the data from some variable number of thermocouples, and then select which of the thermocouples to display on a waveform chart. I am using a PXIe 1082 for my DAQ. I have attached my VI. The problem I get is that sometimes (but not always!) if I apply heat to two thermocouples at a time, their response is much slower then when I just apply heat to one thermcouple. here are pictures of the response of 1 and 2 thermocouples:
I have guessed that it is some sort of timing error and tried to update a few things. I currently have a producer/consumer system set up because I will eventually need to write this data to a file. Maybe something there is causing problems.
Thanks in advance for your help!

PXIe-8101 desktop ICON
I inadvertanly changed the National Instruments Desktop Icon when you first power up into Windows 7. The User would like that one back. Its not under Programdata>Microsoft folders ( after you "Show Hidden Folders"). Does anyone know where it is or how to get the original back??
Thanks..
DMM4070 null offset
Hi
I use a PXI rack with a DMM4070 multimeter.
The softpannel that comes with the DMM driver has a button called "Null Offset".
I want to use this option to compensate the wires during a resistor measurment (short the wires an click on ""Null offset" ). In the softpannel it works fine but how can i use this function in my code (C# or CVI).
Can anyone help me
thanks in advance

Problem with Start Asynchronous Call
Hi,
I have a VI (Clocks.vi) that I use to generate various sinewaves out of the PXI chassis. This program is located in the PXI folder in my project (otherwise I get an error like 'ressource missing' or equivalent when I try to run it).
I also have various top level VIs located in the computer folder in my project.
In one of them (Locking Interface.vi), I try to start Clocks.vi asynchronously. I believe I followed the steps described in the help, however it seems that LV starts a clone of Clocks.vi that doesn't have any effect. If I try to change the sinewaves (amplitude, frequency...) from the front pannel that pops up, nothing happens. But if I double click Clocks.vi in the project window, a new (identical) front pannel up that does work as it should.
I've also tried to locate Locking Interface.vi in the PXI folder in the project but then none of the VIs that I call asynchronously (including Clocks.vi) pop up at all. (No error message either - and I made sure that the VI preference still states 'open front pannel when called').
What is the problem? How should I fix it?
Thanks.
PXIe-8135 boot issue
Hi all,
When I boot embedded controller(PXIe-8135), it often stops at welcome screen and even can't go into BIOS setup. I noticed that there is a code at lower right side of welcome screen. When the code is "A2" or "B2", the PXIe-8135 could boot normally. But when the code is "98" or "B4", the PXIe-8135 will stop at welcome screen. So I guess the code indicates some problems when the PXIe-8135 booting. Does anyone know about this code?
Multiprocessing or multiple processor options
I have a PXIe-1082 chassis with a PXIe-8135RT controller. I also have a large piece of IP designed for vxWorks (Intel or PPC) which I would like to embed into this chassis. Since the RT controller is PharLap based, that IP cannot run on the controller. So, is there a way to have a second 'slave' CPU running in the chassis based on vxWorks with some form of direct memory or ethernet interface to the RT LabView controller?
If this can be done, what CPU boards (Of recent vintage) would be compatible?
Thanks,
Robert
Crosstalk on NI PXI-2575
Hi everyone,
I am currently using two NI PXI-2575 196-channels multiplexers and I have a crosstalk issue. I am using them as switch-modules (aka. demultiplexers) to deliver a pulse-signal on the COM-port (pin 173) consecutively to the other channels for calibration of some boards. Whenever I start sending pulses on the COM port, no matter if it is linked (via LabVIEW using NI SWITCH) to another port or not, I always have huge crosstalk on all the other channels.
Do you have any idea where this could come from? Before lending these multiplexers (I have not bought them yet, as I wanted to make sure that they were working the way I want them to), I have asked an engineer from NI, who told me that using them this way should be no problem.
BTW all grounds are connected (pulser, oscilloscope and chassis (NI PXI-8335). I have already tried not connecting the pulse signal to the scope to reduce it's possible impact, but it does not change anything. May that be some shielding problem?
Regards
I am using a PXI-2527 with a TB-2627. The PXI card lists a connector pin-ut. The TB lists the channels. I need to see how the pin-outs on the PXI relate to the channels on the TB. Where can I find this information?

Test Equipment for Power Supply
Hi ,
I want to develop a test software for power supply using LabVIEW which we can use for our mass production.
We are currently using the following for the development stage.
1. Digital Multimeter(Topward 1330)
2.Oscilloscope(Agilent DSO 6054A)
3.Programmable AC Source(Chroma 6430)
4. DC electronic Load (Chroma 63030)
We are using GPIB as the programming interface. We also use NI-VISA, NI-488.2 from LabVIEW to communicate.
Since I am new to this domain, I need an expert help in programming this software.
Thanks
Geographical Address voltage on PXI-express peripheral card
Good day forum members!
I'm currently designing a PXI-express card whcih must be inserted in a NI PXI-express chassis. I read the documentation and specification of PXI, PXI-express and cPCIexpress, but it appears that I am not able to find any voltage level specification for the GA (Geographical Address pins) which are present in the J4 connector. I must know at least their voltage for high level input before connect them to the FPGA which is onboard. I'd like to avoid to connect a 12 Volt signal directly to a 1.8V Bank of the FPGA. Yes, I know, I can always use a voltage divider (done with resistors) before the FPGA inputs, but I believe is better to know the spcifications before designing than design something wrongly.
Can anybody give a hint?
Many Thanks,
Emanuele
FPGA DMA FIFO Data Write
Hi Everyone,
I am currently having some problems writing to a DMA FIFO in my project. I tried to attach the project buit it produced an error code so I have had to resort to using screenshots which are frustratingly mangled!
I am really sorry about the fractured way that I am having to update this message but I wrote a rather long post that refused to upload and I lost all of it so I am going to do it this way to be safe. So, first of all thank you for reading my post - I am new to LabVIEW in general and have no real experience with the software, epsecially not LabVIEW FPGA.
In this project I want to write some data to a DMA FIFO. This project is something of a trial run that I am trying to get to work before I attempt anything more ambitious. The basic idea is to read some data from a host VI down a DMA FIFO, across the FPGA and then back up to the host where it is stored in a text file. In the host VI I want to isolate the two spearate processes so I begin by referencing the VI and then stating the size of each of the buffers.
How to synchronize sampling on PXIe-5162
Hi, I need to characterize phase and amplitude imbalance of two quadrature signals from a 14bit TxDAC. I selected two 5162 modules to do the job. The signals can have a frequency of up to 1.2GHz..
Is PXIe-5162 capable of doing this job?
The plan was to record a long sample of the signals and then do the processing in ie. Matlab.
I am facing a few problems. Is it possible to synchronize sampling of all channels on one 5162 module, and how to synchronize sampling of 2 x 5162 modules with enough accuracy to have a phase resolution below 1deg?
Are there any examples of how to synchronize sampling of multiple channels/modules in LabView ?
Can the phase and amplitude measurement be done directly in LabView without involving Matlab?
Problems directly connecting Windows 7 HP EliteBook to NI PXIe-8135 Embedded Controller
For some reason my computer cannot connect to the NI PXIe-8135 Embedded Controller in my PXIe-1082 chassis. My computer recognizes that there is something there, but it cannot communicate with it (no packets recieved back, but packets sent). I've already checked my firewall settings, network settings, and anything else I could think of that might be preventing me from connecting to it but I have not found a single thing that tells me why I cannot connect.
Any ideas on troubleshooting this problem, or if someone has run into the same problem please let me know - any help is greatly appreciated!

Shared variables crash during start
Hello,
I have a problem with crashing of Shared varibles during startup of my Real-time system on PXI-8106 ( Error: -1950679035 ). But the problem probably comes from ethernet settings. When I delete DNS and Gateway address and reboot, Shared variables are initialized properly. But only one-time next reboot or switch ON/OFF I meet the same problem. This issue was occurred after update of LV Real-time to 13.1. Everything went properly with older LV Real-time module and drivers. Did someone meet similiar issue? Could you help me please?
