PXI-4110 Aux Power Input socket

I have a PXI-4110 PSU where the APS input socket is missing the small black plastic insert. (The socket shows two bare metal r/a pins, with no locating holes for the APS cable screws.) Is this a user replaceable part, or do we have to return the module to NI for repair? A part number would be helpful, as I can't find any mention of it under the PXI-4110 accessories/spares web-page.

Hello Guys,

I am trying to communicate with 8512 CAN Module using PXIE Hardware, the same error is arriving when i run the LabVIEW example code. Mr. Ulfjon have mentioned that you need to close the NI max session. I did not create any sort of session in the NI Max though in NI Max am getting the results(CAN DATA) properly and not in  the LabVIEW code, can someone help me about this?

Thanks in advance.

NI PXI-6255, differential terminal configuration.

I'm using channels 0-7 and 16-17. How to call ch16-23?

String PXI1Slot5/ai0:7, PXI1Slot5/ai16:17 doesn't work (says channel 16 doesn't exist).

String PXI1Slot5/ai0:7 works.

String PXI1Slot5/ai16:17 doesn't work (says channel 16 doesn't exist).

PXI-2503 scan list

I have a PXI-2503 multiplexer with a TB-2605 Terminal Block and need to scan channels 0:9 using "2503/4-Wire 12x1 Mux" topology. When I measure resistance with Keithley 2400 connected to com0 terminals of a multiplexer everything works just fine. I use the ch0:9->com0; scan list string.

Now I'm trying to measure resistance with a PXI-4072 DMM instead of Keithley 2400 and have a problem with a scan list. I need to connect com0 and ai0 (checked in MAX and it works), but I cannot find the right format of a scan list string to do that. Can anyone help me with that please?

It looks like ai0 is invalid terminal name.

Hi,
My goal is supplying a DC voltage (using PXIe-4138) to my setup and measure the current (drained from the source) vs time while I am sending analog control bits (using PXIe-6739) to an analog mux in my hardware.

I am using MATLAB 2017b (Data Acquisition Toolbox) and ok with sending desired outputs using PXIe-6739. However, I couldn't find a resource for controlling PXIe-4138 while sending data with PXIe-6739.

using MATLAB. When I use daq.getDevices, I don't see PXIe-4138 ( I guess this is expected since it's not a DAQ).

Looking for suggestions and code examples for controlling 4138 and 6739 together.

My hardware: PXIe-1078 chasis with  two PXIe-6738s, PXIe-6739 and PXIe-4138.

Thanks a lot,

Levent

[Edit]It only happens when trying to install the 2015 software. It doesnt happen when I format it again and try to install 2016 software.

Hi

is it normal to see this message after i format my pxie? "Unable to find boot program c:\ph_exec.exe"

It goes away when I install all my software but then the PXIe reboots when i try to deploy something from Veristand.

I'm using a PXIe-8821.

And i'm trying to use software from 2015 (Veristand, and many other software from 2015 into the PXIe.

I formatted it maybe 1 month ago but I don't remember this problem. And there weree no (not wanted) reboots.

Thank you in advance.

Hi,

There is a task on the basis of the module ni pxi to develop a virtual device that performs reception of the signal by rs-232 and data transfer to the channel of the cams. It's not very clear how to implement this. Help advice how to implement, where to read about it, can examples of what it is.

Please help.

I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.

PXI-5114 Vertical Range

As for PXI-5114, is it possible to set different vertical ranges to different channels?

For example, I would like to set 1V as a vertical range for Ch0 and 5V for Ch1.

I've confirmed some sample VIs, but in the sample VIs, only one value is assigned to a vertical range for both channels.

NIRFSG time event interval

$

Hello All,

I using NIRFSG  for signal generation and specifically the List mode configuration. within that mode I have to specify the time interval for each power level, and that is done by calculating the time according to the number of required samples.
For example, if I want 10000 samples for each measurement the time interval for each power level would be = 10000 / sample rate (10MHz/sec). this would give me 0.001 micro sec time interval for each measurement.

The problem is when I checked the measured samples for each measurement I found they are not exactly as I expect. The attached picture shows that I insert a time interval for FOUR measurements each one with 11600 samples but I got a different number of samples for the measurement some of them higher and some of them less than 11600.

I am not sure if there is time resolution limitation! Please if someone has an idea about what is happening I would really appreciate.

Download speed of NI PXIE-1085 (24GB/s) with 10 GbE Setup

I seem to be experiencing much slower speeds than anticipated on my NI PXle-1085 (24GB/s) Chassis with a 10 GbE network. I'm trying to download to a server and I was expecting to get download speeds of about 200 MB/s but instead I'm getting speeds of around 80 MB/s with an Intel driver installed instead of the standard which was even slower. Can anyone help fix this problem?
Thank you!

Hello All

I use PXIE 1085 and I want to synchronize the SMU(PXIE 4139) with NI RFSA (PXIE 5840). how can i do this?

I used the way for the synchronizing the SMU and PXIE 5840 (I attached its picture), however in this method I need a VI which gives the NI DCPOWER GET SESSION REFERENCE, and i cant find it in the NI DCPOWER palette.

One of two CAN Port doesn't work

Hi,

Today i was trying to make a CAN Loopback Test with the VI from National Instruments but I didn't succed. I thought I had the Interface names and yes I  had them wrong.

I looked in the RT Hardware Configuration and tested every port and the Port1 is ok but the Port2 apparently not.fail.PNG

Does that mean that my Can port in my PXI-8512 Card doesn't work and there is no way I can fix it?

Or could it be that I didn't installed the right drivers?

Could it be a "software" problem?

What would you do in my place?

Thanks.

Regards.

PXIe 2525 INOP

I am having troubles getting my PXIe-2525 card up and running. I am hoping I am doing something foolish. Below is a detail of my setup and my troubleshooting so far. I hope someone has a nugget of information that get me on the right track.

Setup:

Windows 10 64 bit PC

PXIe-1078 Chassis

PXIe-8360 MXI card (for communications)

NI-SWITCH 18.0

NI-DAQmx 18.0

I always boot the PXI chassis up before my computer.

Troubleshooting:

In the same chassis I was able to get my PXI-2530B and PXI-6513 cards up and running.

I am able to see the 2525 card in my device manager but it says windows has not associated a driver with it. Any attempts to manually link the driver have been unsuccessful.

I have tried to re-install NI-SWITCH by first uninstalling and then re-installing. I have tried to repair NI-SWITCH from within the add/remove programs.

I have tried to switch the card position in the chassis.

I am at a loss for next steps. Please chime in if you have some ideas...

Measuring current using a PXIe-1071 chassis, PXIe 4141 SMU with NI 2501 and TB-2606

$

Hi there,

I am trying to source and sink current across a couple of LEDs with a common input and separate outputs using a PXIe-4141 SMU and the 4 method.  I apply a voltage to both of the LED's outputs using the SMU and use the switch and matrix to choose which output sinks, so which LED I measure across.

When I use the SMU by its self and just manually connect the output I want, the circuit works perfectly (sources and measures 20mA across both LEDs). However, when I try to use the switch and test box, the current I get out is limited to less than half of the current I have tried to apply, even when I just use the NI-DC Power soft front panel and not my software.

I am thinking there may be a fault with the way I have actually connected my circuit to the Switch (circuit design is not a strength of mine) so I will share which connections I have used.

I have tried two different methods, both attempting to put 20mA across with voltage limited to 10V which should me far more than enough for an LED.

1st (achieves the highest current of 8.5mA)

Sense Hi and Output Hi connected directly from SMU to the common input on the circuit.

!st LED output connected to c4+ and c4- on matrix.

2nd LED output connected t0 c5+ and c5- on matrix.

Sense Low from SMU connected to R3+ on matrix

Output Low from SMU connected to R3- on matrix

R3+ and R3- also connected to chassis ground.

I then connect R3 to c4 and c5 using the NI switch soft front panel and try to put 20mA though using NI-DCPower soft from panel.

2nd (only gets 2mA through but the circuit seems more logical to me)

Common input is connected to c4+ and c5+ which will then connect to R3+.

Sense Hi and output Hi from SMU are then physically connected to R3+ using the soft from panel

Output of 1st LED is connected to c4- and output of 2nd LED connected to c5- which are then connected to R3- using the soft front panel.

R3- is then physically connected to the SMU sense low and output low and the chassis ground.

Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated!

I can also share my program, but as I said before, the problem is also seen in the soft front panels so I'm thinking its more of a hardware issue.

Thank you in advance!

PXIe 2501 limiting LED current

PXIe 8360 not detected by MAX

$

Hello everyone,

I come to you as I have tried pretty much every possible fix to my issue I have found online.

I am trying to connect a PXIe-8360 to my computer using a NI ExpressCard-8360 plugged into a CardBus to ExpressCard adaptor, as my laptop (a Getac s410) does not have an ExpressCard port.

Unfortunately, my PXIe-8360 is not displayed in the list of devices detected by MAX, even though I made sure to power the chassis before the computer.

My config :

- LabVIEW 2011

- Device drivers installed

- PXI platform services 16

- Win 7 Professional  SP1

I listed a few things I noticed that might help solve the problem :

1) The chassis is perfectly working on another PC.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I think this shows the problem comes from the laptop

2) Plugging or unplugging the NI ExpressCard-8360 has no effect on Windows' device manager

However, plugging or unplugging the adaptor refreshes the list of devices, creating 4 entries in the USB controllers' list

Again, correct me if I am wrong, but I think this shows the problem comes from the communication between the ExpressCard and the laptop

3) The chassis seems to know whether it is connected to the PC. Indeed, I cannot power off the chassis as long as it is connected to the PC, whereas disconnecting the chassis from the PC allows me to power off the chassis as I want.

Again, correct me if I am wrong, but I think this shows the problem is one-sided.

Now here is a summary of what I tried in order to fix the issue :

1) Updating all my NI components from the NI Update Service.

2) Updating my BIOS to its latest version documented on Getac's website.

3) Installing NI MXI-Express BIOS Compatibility Software 1.5.

After this step, a blue screen of death would appear when booting into Windows, which kept me from using this software and forced me to uninstall it from safe mode.

4) After reading up this thread : https://knowledge.ni.com/KnowledgeArticleDetails?id=kA00Z000000P6UISA0, I tried to disable ASPM, but it was already done.

I am now running out of solutions and resort to your help to fix this issue.

Thanks in advance,

PXI-7853R analog outputs failure

HI,

I am using a PXI-7853R to generate output signal with Veristand, I started working with the new device 2 months ago and every thing was fine and I could  generate signals using AO0, AO1, AO2 ......AO7.
But starting from yesterday AO0 and AO7 are no more working, I can't see the signal that I want to generate with the oscilloscope and the photo of what I am visualizing in the oscilloscope from these two outputs (AO0 and AO7) is attached, and the visualization is the same even when I am not generating any signal.

I can't understand what is happening especially that the other analogue outputs are working well.

I am asking if the device is damaged or if it needs repair, or if any one can help me to solve the problem.

Any advice is appreciated and thank you for helping or trying to. 20180621_121737.jpg
