The DisplayPort to DVI cable not working with PXIe-8135 RT

Hi all,

 

I recently bought and installed the very beefy PXIe-8135 RT controller into my PXIe-1065 chassis and I am having mixed results with the DisplayPort video output. If I use the supplied DisplayPort to VGA adapter that NI supplies with the controller I have no issues with the video output. If I use a DisplayPort to HDMI adapter that I have (and use an accomanying HDMI cable) I have no issues. However, I also bought a third party DisplayPort to DVI-D integrated cable and I have no video output from the controller with this cable. If I use the cable with my laptop it works fine. Does anyone have any ideas or troubleshooting tips? Is this a driver problem?

Is there anywhere I can find the step/guide to upgrading a NI PXI 8108 from Windows XP to Windows 7? Also, do I have to be connected to the internet to do it or can I be offline?

ADLINK PXIe-3985 Controller - NI PXIe-1062Q Chassis Compatibility

Hello forum members!

 

we recently purchased  a PXIe-3985 ADLINK PXIe Embedded controller to be installed in a NI PXIe-1062Q PXIe chassis. In our system is also present a NI PXIe-6672 Timing Module, installed in the chassis timing slot (4). Windows 7 installation, NI MAX toolsuite and NI PXIe-6672 Timing Module driver installation worked fine, but we discovered that the CPU is not able to recognize the TIMING SLOT. We cannot generate any PXI STAR signal with our NI PXIe-6672 Timing Module because it appears that the TIMING SLOT is recognized as normal peripheral slot. The PXI trigger lines and clocks are working well and usable, but not the PXI STAR signals.

I also tried to install the PXIe Chassis in the NIMAX toolsuite as explained in the PXIPLATFORM _50-17049-100_200.pdf document from ADLINK.

basically in the NIMAX device and interface tab I right click and try to add the pxie chassis.

First it is not understandable how can I find the bus identifier root of the chassis. There is a PXI bus tree, but no evidence of the PXI bus related to the chassis.

 

 

Furthermore even if I select one PXI bus, the NI PXIe-1062Q PXIe chassis is not listed and trying to load the corresponding .ini file from C://programs/nationl instruments/PXI/PXIe Chassis/ returns the error “Could not import Chassis information. Error Code 0xFFFB380E”

 

is the ini file working at all for my PXIe chassis? is there another procedure that I must follow to have my  timing controller working or the chassis installed?

 

We definitely need this capability to test our equipment and I would like to know if there are known incompatibility issues between these three devices:

  • PXIe-3985 ADLINK PXIe Embedded controller
  • NI PXIe-1062Q PXIe chassis
  • NI PXIe-6672 Timing Module

And in case if there is an update or workaround which solves the issue.

 

The system has Win7 32bit installed.

Synchronizing Analog and Digital Output

Hello everybody,

 

as the title says, I want to synchronize a digital output with an analog output. I know that there is an LabView-example for this using counter channels. But I would like to know, if the synchronization can be done in another way, without involving counters. I also had a look at the DAQ-trigger functions, but I am not sure if I understood the description.

I attached a snippet to show an idea for the synchronization of several digital outputs and analog outputs. The generated waveforms are just dummies and I will replace them afterwards.

 

Is this way a good way to synchronize the outputs? Could I also export a "Start trigger" instead of the "Sample clock"? As far as I understood, the Export Trigger.vi exports the analog output clock to the specified destination, which is then reused for the digital outputs. But why do I have to use the timing Vi for the digital outputs seperately, if the digital outputs will use the analog output clock? And what happens, if the sampling rate for the digital sample clock mismatches the analog output clock? As I export the analog output clock (or at least I believe that I do this), the digital clock should be overwritten, shouldn't it?

Bonjour à tous,

 

J'ai un chassis PXI 8186 avec un controleur PXI 8186 sous Windows XP avec les tirroirs PXI 7334 et PXI6052E.

 

Pour les besoins des projets, je doit l'utiliser connecter sur internet.

 

Je souhaiterais l'upgrader, avec un controleur PXI-8820.

 

Savez-vous si, mes tirroirs PXI 7334 et PXI6052E  fonctionnerons avec cette nouvelle configuration, avec Labview 8.5 ou Labview 2012.

NI PXI-PCIe 8361 card not detected

Hello Community,

 

I am trying to get the following PXI system up and running on a computer running Windows 7 Enterprise 32-bit. We already have a duplicate system up and running on another computer running Windows XP 32-bit.

 

NI PXI-1036 Chassis

NI PXI-8360 Controller connected to the PC via the NI PXI-PCIe 8361 card

NI PXI-6220 Multifunction DAQ

NI PXI-2570 Relay Module

NI PXI-GPIB

 

I spent a day or two trying to download various drivers, and was able to see the NI PXI-PCIe 8361 card in NI Max, but I could not see the actual Chassis. I then tried uninstalling all NI software, so that I could carefully make sure it was installed in the appropriate order:

1. Shutdown the PC and PXI system, disconnected the PXI system from the PC.

2. Installed Labwindows + Labview (Developer Suite 2011)

3. Installed NI PXI Platform Services CD that came with the PXI system (Version 3.2.3)

4. Installed "NI System Driver Set 2014.05" from a flash drive that came with the PXI System

5. Shutdown the PC, then powered on the PXI system and connected it to the Computer.

 

After turning on the PC, I can see that NI MAX does not seem to even recognize the NI PXI-PCIe 8361 card as I was able to previously.

 

At this point, I thought it would be better to ask the community for help rather than to start abritrarily updating drivers again.

Hey,

 

I’m running a single USRP test where I transmit from one RF (say RF0) and received on the other RF. Timing synchronization of transmission/acquisition is performed though software by sending a PPS signal and starting transmission/acquisition when receiving this pulse. If I have a single USRP and cable the PPS with PPS out, the test works fine: I can trigger different acquisitions at different times with no problem.

 

If instead I connect the PPS output to the 6674T and back to the PPS inout, it seems that only the first acquisition works fine, but after there is Rx FIFO overflows (71) error. Does the 6674T also forwards the 2nd (3rd, etc) pulse?

PXI-5105 Re-Arm Time

I have a Lab-View GUI which is fetching data each time a User Interfacea Trigger level is exceed, the datasheet specified a minimum of 2.6us for Re-Arm.

This re-arm is true always or sotware add more delay to it.

How the Internal Memory on the Card itself works? Is a circular buffer saving data after the Re-Arm happen still if the sotware is processing the data?

I want to connect NI PXIe-5451(waveform generator) and NI PXIe-7966R(Flex RIO) with peer to peer technology. I took an example from NI FGEN, which is working perfectly, but when i use it in my project there is an error occures - "unknown channel or repeated capability name". What should i do to fix this problem?

can we lock 80 MHz timebase to PXI_CLK10 on PXI-6220 M Series DAQ?

I am using PXI-6220 to measure Frequency/Period of 32768 Hz clock signal, accuracy is very important. I have provided signal to measure on Gate input of Ctr 0 (PFI 9). I am using 80 Mhz Timebase. I want to Lock PLL to PXI back plane 10 MHz reference (PXI_CLK10) which in turn is locked onto the 10 MHz reference via PXI-5600 on Slot 2 (External 10 Mhz standard is connected). so far I don't see a way to lock PLL to PXI_CLK10. Is that possible at all? see the image attached to this message.

Disconnected PXI locking up computer

I have an issue when an otherwise working PXI with PXI-5922 installed connected to a PCIe slot in my host computer by an optical cable. Everything works great if I boot up the computer with the chassis powered, but if the chassis loses power or for some reason the data link is physically disconnected, if any software tries to communicate with the chassis, the computer locks up completely. Mouse movements or keyboard presses do not register and I have to do a hard-reset.

 

Is this a known issue?

 

It can be reproduced in NI-MAX by verifying a successful connection to the device and then disconnecting the device and refreshing the connected devices in NI-MAX.

Acquire single point 12 bit data @ 200Khz using PXIe 6535 DIO RT

I want to acquire single point 12 bit data @ 200Khz using PXIe 6535 DIO, PXIe 1072 chasis and 8820 controller in RT. Problem is I am unable to acquire data as triggered input. Loop execution time takes ~10us (measured using rt tick count). Thus It misses the samples. Am I missing something? What are the proper ways to acquire digital data in RT?

Also I am wondering whether I can use the SMB connector of 8820 controller as my acquision trigger input pulse. I am completely new to RT. Any help will be appriciated.

PXI-6704 voltage output latency

I have on old PXI-6704 and I want to generate 1 channel, 1 sample voltage output.

 

Everithng  is working as expected exept for the output latency. I can see all samples are generated (the update rate is 5ms bigger than the max of 1.8ms), but I can messure a delay of aprox. 50ms from the moment of  DAQmx Write and the Voltage generated.

 

Is there any method to configure the card to reduce the FIFO.  I alredy tried a lot of samples from people with similar problems but their solution did not worked on my PXI-6704.

 

Any suggestions will be mutch appreciated,

MXI connection issue

I'm using PCI-8331 and PXI-8331 to connect one PC which is running RT and one PXI chassis. The PXI chassis is powered on firstly and then the PC is powered on. The strange thing is that the LNK Led at neither the PC nor the PXI chassis never blinks. So none of the boards installed in the PXI chassis can be found. Does anybody know what is the root cause? Thanks in advance!

Up to which loop rate can PXIe 8820 Real-time controller reach ?

Hello,

 

I was using PXIe8820 to do closed-loop control in labview real time. I take the measurement and give a control signal to actuators at each cycle.

But I can't increase the loop rate up to 3kHz. Is this a limitation of the PXIe8820 controller? Or I need to change the configurations at somewhere?

 

Can anyone help me with this? Thank you!

I'm using PXIe-5451 waveform generator with FPGA PXIe-7966R. They are connected with peer-to-peer technology.

I want to use Digital Interoplation Filter, but there is an error occures in the property node. Here is a screen of this error.

What should i do to fix this problem?

Are there any known temperature problems with the PXI-8461-2 CAN interface? It looks like the CAN interfaces stop working when they become too warm.
