Hello,

I have a test system with NI-PXI , NI DMM SWITCH 2575 for connection test on a fusebox and NI 2527 for POWER SWITCH for relais test.

From time to time, there are parts which fail at a relay test with I Contact Open.Limits are [-0.001 to 0.001 A] and the measurement is 0.59A for example. Please see the attachment, the vi was made in Labview 8.2. From this data, do you think I have a short in test, or maybe the smd relays from NI PXI 2527 are not opening every time? Or should I increase more the wait time before the measurement on I contact open?

The data sheet for the Analysis Toolkit indicates compatibility, but the canned example won't connect to the module.

I need this to evaluate the system, and I won't have the eval long enough to write a whole test suite in labview.

Note I get is "Error:  Device identifier is invalid."

pci 8330 not detected

Hi all.

I have a PCI-8330 card and it is installed in an old computer with a VIA processor 1GHz, 1Gb Ram and with Win2KSP4

I have installed previously the MXI-3 software version 1.15.

When I run the MXI-3 software, a pop up appears telling that " A MXI-3 interface is not detected in your system......"

Is it neededd the card connected to a PXI chassis with PXI-3330 to be the pci card recognized in the PC by the MXI-3 software?

Thanks for your support

SMU Guarding

Hi All,

I'm looking to perform some low current measurements on my DUT and therefore am looking at including the Guard wires on my DUT evaluation PCB. I have two related questions on this issue.

1: The pinout of my 4141 says that there are two guard pins and I have verifed this with a DMM, they are connected together and drive at the same level as the Channel HI. However the recommended cable DB25F-DB25F Low leakage cable only has one of these guard pins connected through. Is this correct or is there an error with my cable? I have checked all 4 channels and they are the same.

2: Does anyone know of any good information / best practices for the guard tracking on my PCB?

Thanks all,

Nick

Does NI sell such a product? I want to feed the MXIe from my PXIe unit, through a panel I will make, in the front of a 19" rack. I need that feed through connector, one that can be mounted on a panel, but I can't seem to find it.

We are going to use the laboratory complex of Modern wireless networks, which contains of PXI-1075e, Vector Signal Generator NI PXIe-5673E and Vector Signal Analyzer NI PXIe-5663E, for teaching students.

But there is a problem. When I want to run a lab “Measurement error of modulation GSM”, an error occurs when I press the button “measure”. It means “Attention. Wrong settings of analyzers. Enter the correct settings and repeat the measurement”. Others labs also do not want to work correctly.

Although, the setting of analyzers and of generator are correct on the instructions manual. The output of Generator and input of Analyzer are not connected by wire, but I use the antennas. Also the LED indicators Active and Access are flashing red when I’m using the device.

The result of self-test for digitizer NI 5622 is on the screen below.

PLL.jpg

Also the flashing LED indicator Red may indicate a conflict device drivers and the phase out of sync.

I did a standard test of version program and firmware. The version of the program GSM/EDGE Generator and Analyzer Toolkit are 1.1.1 and active . The firmware version of NI RFSG and NI RFSA is 2.7.

I understand that the problem is the unlocked PLL, but I am new to using the NI devices and I did not have such a big problem before. Please tell me how to solve this problem.

Hi

I am using NI 5791 tranceiver equipped with PXIe-7966R FPGA.My question is that can I use this tranceiver card in full duplex mode.

That menas I can use transmit and receive channels at the same time via RF interface.I have worked on streaming example in that only one work at a time.Eiter receiver or transmitter not both works simultaneously.

I have developed a VI for tranceiver but i get error.VI and errors are attached.

Configuring RT PXI system: 1050 chassis, 8108 controller in slot 1, slot 2 empty, 6221 AI cards in slots 3&4, 6733 AO cards in slots 5&6, 6529 DIO card in slot 7 and 2566 Relay card in slot 8. 8108 controller was previously operating LV 8.6.1RT with same application but other AI hardware (6052E, obsoleted), has been upgraded to NI-DAQmx 9.5.1 and then  9.6.2 and LV 2009. MAX does not recognize 6221 or 2566 cards, others are OK.

Synchronize PXI FPGA 7841 with 4140 Source Meter with trigger

Hi,

I work with a PXI system including a FPGA 7841  and a 4140 Source Meter Unit. The SMU is used to supply a sensor (DC voltage 3.3V) and I implemented an i2c protocol on the FPGA board to communicate with the sensor. Right now I need to trigger the output of the SMU with the FPGA card for a specific application. So I want to send a hardware based trigger signal with the FPGA 7841 and want to wait for e.g. a rising edge with the SMU before turning the supply voltage on.  I tried to implement this by setting the '/PXI1Slot2/PXI_Trig0' on the FPGA board as output and then set the output from low to high. This rising edge I wanted to detect with a DCPOWER VI before starting the output voltage. I couldn’t find a matching example and wanted to ask, if you have any suggestion how I could implement this in a stable way. For the SMU 4140 I use a single point source mode and dc voltage as output function.

Best regards,

Moritz

PXIe-1073 link LED off and chassis not seen by computer

Yesterday, the PXIe-1073 was able to connect to our computer just fine and appeared in NI MAX. However, after installing some updates and rebooting the computer, the PXIe-1073 no longer shows up in NI MAX. The PCIe-8361 does appear
in MAX though. The link LED On the PXI chassis is off.  The PXI was powered on before turning on the computer. I tried moving the PCIe card to a different slot, but that did not solve the issue.

Note that there's an unrecognized device in the Device Manager called "SM Bus controller". A Google search implies it *may* be associated with the PXI controller, but I could not find any information about how to download the driver for this. Windows update cannot find the driver.

I verified that all cables are connected properly.

PXI 8430 cannot open serial ports

Hi all,

I have problems using serial ports of the PXI-8430/8 card.

After driver setup the device works pretty well and the serial Troubleshooter of MAX shows all 8 ports as passed and I can access the ports.

After a reboot of the system I cannot access the ports of 8430. The Troubleshooter lists all ports "Failed" with the message "unable to open port".

The configuration in device manager seems correct. Also I cannot find any error within the win registry (COMDB,...). Everythings seems pretty well.

I think theres could be no other application which could take control of all the ports, especially not after restart.

I tried to reinstall drivers, rearrange com-numbers and I have already changed the 8430 hardware. Nothing fixed the problem...

Does anybody have ideas or a solution?

My configuration:

Rack 1078 / Controller: PXI-8135 / Serial Ports: PXI-8430/8

Windows XP

I have another system which is running pretty well in same configuration.

Improving digitizer accuracy via oversampling

This question is generally for any signal and digitizer but in particular we have a PXI-5105 and are wondering if there is any statistical basis for impriving absolute accuracy via oversampling?  We have a signal at 2kHz and of course this scope can do 60MHz.  Some on the team have batted around the central limit theorem and show some small improvement but it isn't nearly enough to get what we need.

Compile EXE of VI to run on PXI

I've got a VI that needs to run on the RT PXI, using Labview 2014.

This VI has a front end where the user changes values etc, so it must be visible on the desktop PC, connector to the PXI via ethernet.

Using Labview 7, this exe was created using application builder, and at the time of execution, it was called as:   myvi.exe - target 192.168.1.1

I've created a labview project on the desktop, with the VI located on the PXI tree.

Need to guidance as how to create an EXE for this VI, so the user can simply click on it located on the desktop, and it will run on the PXI while the user can modify values on the front end gui.

Thanks
