Hi
I have PXI 8110 controller that is installed Windows XP on.
But I have to change the OS to Windows 7 SP1.
What should I do ??
Hello,
I have been able to get my laptop's NI MAX to identify my pxi, however, I cannot get my labview program to identify my pxi. I believe I need some more software. What are the software requirements?
Thank You
Ian
This has been our issue before about PXI4130 cards that were damage and it’s seems it’s becoming frequent this time. These cards were being rejected with common failure, "no auxillary output". We would like to know what is the possible component of the cards was being damage and the possible root cause of the failure.
Hi All,
I am measuring a floating signal with the PXI4464, which has 2 types of terminal configuration: Pseudo-differential and differential. In the past, I compared both types for my application and the pseudo-differential was better. The differential mode was creating too much noise. However, suddenly the signal stared having some drops to 5 mV and then going back to the right value, which was screwing up the measurement.
So, I decided to change to Differential mode again, and the signal looked better. Even reading some tutorials about those types of terminal configuration, it is not clear yet which one is the best for my application.
The signal is floating, its maximum value is 22 mV, and I have to use a long BNC cable (20 ft) to connect the system that I am measuring to the PXI4464.
Could someone help me if these differences, and which configuration might be better?
Thank you so much.
Hello. I need to connect a PXI-1052 chassis and an embedded controller PXIe-8133. Is there a solution to convert a PXIe module to CompactPCI or PXIe to PXI?
Thanks.

Keep getting (intermittently) the DMM read error code -1074118066 that says to contact National Instruments.... only way to get the error to clear is to reset the card using MAX or reboot the machine. Mostly seems to happen when performing 2wire resistance measurements (not using auto range) but in the 100 ohm range. The really weird thing is I can measure on another net first after a fresh DMM init and then come back to the offending net and most of the time it’ll measure fine. Anyone have any ideas?
what is the Maximum Power, voltage, current a Pxi system can Measure in a Substation ???
Hi,
I'm looking for information on how to trigger 2 PXIe-4081 devices in a chassis. I wish to trigger them to start at same point. I don't see much info on this in the manual or information as to what triggers the 4081 can use.
Thanks,
Good morning,
We had implemented an ATE, to run long time test, with the PXI in object. During the preliminary test we encountered problems due to the BSOD of W7 after some hours (within 12 and 36) of continuosly running.
I have check the memory dump of the errors, via WinDBG, and seems to me that problem is CPU related (maybe heat?) due to corruption of the cache memory. The application running on it was completely developed with Labview.
I attach the revelant result of the dump analisys:
BugCheck 124, {0, fffffa800530b028, be000000, 100110b} *** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for igdkmd64.sys Probably caused by : GenuineIntel Followup: MachineOwner --------- 0: kd> !analyze -v ******************************************************************************* * * * Bugcheck Analysis * * * ******************************************************************************* WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR (124) A fatal hardware error has occurred. Please we need help for this situation.
Thank you very much,
Francesco.
Dear All,
I am working on developing a measurement system consists of two chassis one for receivers and the other one for generators.
Regarding receivers, I was trying to verify the power reading of the each VSA by doing a comparison between power received by each receiver and a power meter. It seems there is a difference in reading between the reading of the receiver and the power meter. when I checked the power meter with another power meter I found there is no problem.
Does any of you have an Idea why there is a difference between VSA power reading and the power meter. I will be really appreciated your help.
please see the attached file that shows the problem.
Thank you
best regards

hello, im currently facing problems generating a square wave clock from the PXI-7841R, im using the FPGA Square wave generator and for some reason it seems to work on high frequencies, but on low frequencies the output of the square wave generator is always true
Working on an SCXI project that takes thermocouple readings periodically.
The thermocouples readings are finite measurements, 10 samples per channel, at a rate of 100 Hz. The 10 samples are taken, averaged, and reported. This process happens once every second.
The SCXI will function fine for 3-5 days (variable) and then throw an error:
Error -200284 occurred at an unidentified location Possible reason(s): Some or all of the samples requested have not yet been acquired. To wait for the samples to become available use a longer read timeout or read later in your program. To make the samples available sooner, increase the sample rate. If your task uses a start trigger, make sure that your start trigger is configured correctly. It is also possible that you configured the task for external timing, and no clock was supplied. If this is the case, supply an external clock.
Once this happens, the SCXI appears to still be connected in NI MAX, but I'm unable to acquire any readings in Test Panel. The only way to establish communication with the SCXI again is to power-cycle it.
Has anyone run into something similar before?
Hi,
I currently have a customer with a PXIe-8840 running software set to run at startup. Normally, when they reboot the system the software automatically starts as expected. Occasionally they will see the following on the display output:
MAX system identification name: NI-PXIe8840QuadCore-2F25F67A LabVIEW Real-Time SMP Kernel: CPU cores found: 4 Initializing network... System state: No software installed
MAX shows the device as connected, but also indicates that there is no software installed and doesn't display any of the loaded PXI cards. For now they can recover by re-imaging the controller using the RAD utility and an earlier image.
Has anyone encountered this type of situation before? My first instinct is that there is a hardware problem, but I would have expected a full drive failure where the drive is no longer usable. In this case the drive can be re-imaged and used normally again until the next time it happens.
So, I'm about to begin calibrating this PXIe-4136 using Calibration Executive. The card is installed in our PXIe-1062Q mainframe and is recognized in the NI MAX program. Shortly after powering on the mainframe the access light alternates between green and amber then the red voltage light illuminates and I get the following message in NI MAX:
"Status code -235115
An internal self test has failed, If this error persists, the safety of the interlock feature may be compromised. Please contact NI technical support."
This appears when I try to reset, test, or self-calibrate the device in NI MAX. The safety interlock is installed properly on the front panel and after a visual inspection of the card and interlock everything seems to be as it should be. I've calibrated multiple 4136 cards before and haven't had this issue.
Anyone have any possible guidance?
Thanks,
Joe
I write to give information about the project that I am doing with a embedded controller PXIE 8840 and its module PXIE 6356. Initially we want check the speed of capture and writing of a similar signal between a frequency range from 100HZ to 500KHZ. This signal is read by one of the analog entries and immediately without any modification sent or written for one the analogous outputs. Our goal is that this signal can enter at different frequencies and can be reproduced with the same characteristics (only slightly delayed by ADC and DAC times), which is successful for a cutoff frequency according to the parameters set in the block, but for a range of frequencies the signal is not reflected in the outputs, which has a continuous 0V output. Our concern is how to configure the block so that it allows us to capture the entire frequency range of the input signal or if there is another way to do it differently than using the DAQ Assistant in Labview. Attached with this mail sent a project of how we are using the DAQ and some images of the configuration used
I have to install a different version of Windows 10 (Long Term Service Branch) on a Windows 10 PXIe-8840 controller. Are these the correct peripheral drivers for the controller?

Hi,
I have 2 RMC-8354 PXI controllers, one which has current code / configuration (controller 1) on it and the other which doesn't (controller 2). I created an image of controller 1 using the NI vi's and then deployed it onto controller 2. When the image has been deployed, the controller reboots twice, the second time it pops up saying that it cannot locate NIHWDBDD.dll. Subsequent reboots give the same error message.
Why isn't this file included in the image? I've tried redeploying the image, but the file is still missing.
I'm using LV 2013 Sp1 (32 bit) - I've attached the code I'm using to build and deploy the images in case I'm the problem!

Hello there,
I need to start my PXIe-8880 remotely. I can't seem to find the WOL option in the advanced properties of the network card. The controller has two card installed : Intel I217 and I210. As anyone succeeded this ? Do I miss some kind of Intel driver ?
Does other method than WOL exist to start a controller up ? (ie. shunting the power button...)
Thanks a lot for your answers.
